An Area Code is a dropdown value which is assigned to a Site (or sometimes to Equipment). They are designed to help categorize Sites into zones, regions or other groups, usually based on geography.

Area Codes are mandatory on Site records, and will be copied onto Calls. They are an optional Code on the Equipment screen.
An Area dropdown can be used to filter the Call Monitor & Mapping screens.
