An Area Code is a dropdown value which is assigned to a Site (or sometimes to Equipment). They are designed to help categorize Sites into zones, regions or other groups, usually based on geography.

The Area Code can be added directly into the list when clicking the 'Add New Area' button as there are only two fields to be filled in.

• Area Codes are mandatory on Site records, and will be copied onto Calls (but can be changed for that particular Call)
• They are an optional Code on the Equipment screen
• An Area dropdown can be used to filter the Call Monitor & Mapping screens
