Importing Invoices Into Sage

This guide will detail the process of importing Invoices into Sage, to import an Excel Spreadsheet into Sage you will need to follow these steps.


Step 1

Click on File, and select Import…

You will then open the Data Import Wizard. This will walk you through the process of importing data. On the Welcome page, click Next to begin the process of importing the data.


Step 2

On the Data Type page, select the Audit Trail Transactions option from the list, and click Next.


Step 3

The next step will ask for the data source. Simply select the Excel Spreadsheet, and the file type. If the first row contains headings, you can specify this by ticking the box below the file path.


Step 4

The Field Mappings screen allows you to choose the fields in the spreadsheet which correspond with the fields in Sage. The Export Invoice sheet in Call2Field should be set up to correctly align with Sage already, however these can be changed if required.


Step 5

The final step confirms the choices so far, and allows you to begin the upload process.


Troubleshooting

If you are unable to import your Excel data into Sage, it could be down to some common errors such as:

Problem Solution
Column Headers Some versions of Sage do not give you the option to ignore the column headers. In this case, delete the column headers from the Excel sheet and try again.
File Format You can only upload an Excel sheet in .CSV file format. You can do this by opening up the Export Invoice document, and saving as a .CSV file.
Incorrect Fields Check that the fields in the Excel Spreadsheet line up correctly. If not, contact RedZebra for help with this.
